Recently there has been changes in the role of women in the United States government. Women’s rights are being neglected. On January 23rd Donald Trump signed a ban on federal funding for International groups who preform and provide information on abortions. Even though Trump Reinstated the ban, the fashion world took notice and would not back down. In Milan fashion week Missoni styled their models with the popularized women’s march Pussy Hat and New York fashion week Dior debuted their new shirt saying “We should all be feminists.” Proceeds of the shirt will go to the Clara Lionel Foundation. The fashion industry, even 2 years prior to Trump’s election in 2014, Chanel for their spring and summer ready to wear show took inspiration from women’s rights protests. The world of fashion is using their voice the best way they can and they’re saying that they won’t back down.
