As summer and prom season approaches everyone is eager to lose weight. We see the Kardashians, Amber Rose, and tons of social media stars all advertise waist trainers, but do they really work?
The point of waist trainers are to mold your body into a slimming figure if you wear them for a certain amount of time daily. Sound easy…too easy. According to Jessica Alba, waist training helped her lose all her baby weight and according to the Kylie Jenner that’s how she’s become curvier, but do we really believe no surgery was involved with this? Just because celebrities endorse these products it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s going to work.
Waist trainers will make you lose some weight but only because:
- You might eat less because they’re so tight and you don’t feel like eating.
- They help improve posture, so you look thinner.
- They cause a lot of sweating, but that means you’re losing water weight.
They cause more damage than harm. They can squish your lungs and organs causing irreversible harm. Some people have even passed out from wearing them too tightly and too long. Wearing them won’t make you lose weight in that specific area because eventually the fat will go back to the same area no matter how long you wear them for.
So, it’s really up to you. Do you want to lose a couple of pounds or damage your body permanently?
