On January 28th, the 2018 Grammy Awards was held. To continue the Time’s Up movement that was demonstrated at the Golden Globes blackout, celebrities wore white roses to the Grammys. White was chosen because it symbolizes hope, peace, sympathy, and resistance. The Time’s Up initiative is to fight sexual harassment, assault, and abuse in the workplace. Celebrities from Kelly Clarkson to James Corden wore white roses. Janelle Monáe said it best: “We come in peace, but we mean business”. Khalid, Ne-Yo, Lana Del Rey, Logic, and many more voiced their support of the Time’s Up movement on the red carpet. Kesha sang her song “Praying” along with Camila Cabello, Andra Day, Cyndi Lauper, Julia Michaels, and many others. The performance was extremely emotional- and they were all wearing white. -IK4
